With expertise in burnout, chronic and traumatic stress, and relationships, I help individuals and couples who manage everyone around them build balance, and results, for themselves.

I work with people who hold their families and their workplaces together. They read the room, anticipate what others need, and step in before a problem grows. These roles begin early and become second nature..

The same skills that make someone indispensable to others carry a cost. Standards rise until they become unrelenting. Distance feels safer than depending on anyone. How others see you, whether they stay, whether you measure up, carries more weight than you would choose. Over time this pattern shows up as burnout, chronic stress, difficulty regulating emotion, and strain in the closest relationships.

The capacity you use for everyone else can be directed toward yourself.

Dr. Luca Elson, PsyD is a post-doctoral resident specializing in treating traumatic stress and relationships problems.

My approach is grounded in science and in evidence-based treatments that improve self-esteem, self-worth, and emotion regulation. Work begins with a structured intake, so that the patterns underneath the presenting problem are understood before strategies are chosen. From there we collaborate on the specific areas of distress and the specific opportunities for growth.

I draw on attachment-based, emotionally focused, relational, and psychodynamic approaches, with dialectical behavior therapy skills where emotion regulation is the priority. With couples, I use the Gottman Method to make the cycle between two people visible and to change it. Each of these has met rigorous testing and delivers measurable results.

FAQs

What are your fees?

My fees are $200 per 60-minute individual session, and $250 per couple. A sliding scale is available for a limited number of clients; please ask at the consultation.

At times, it may be beneficial to schedule extended sessions and the costs will be adjusted based on these baseline amounts.

Do you accept insurance?

I am a private-pay provider and do not bill insurance directly. Many clients receive partial reimbursement through out-of-network benefits; please check with your insurance about reimbursement, and I can provide an invoice that meets their requirements.

Do you offer telehealth sessions?

Yes! For video sessions within Florida, I use a secure HIPAA compliant platform, Simple Practice. Simple Practice can be accessed on your computer browser or by downloading an app to your mobile device.

How can I schedule an appointment?

Scheduling an appointment is easy! You can either call or text our offices directly at (561) 794-4760 or request an appointment from the online form.

When will I see results?

This is a difficult question to answer because everyone defines success differently. However, you should expect to feel some immediate relief and reduced symptoms after the 2nd or 3rd session and measurably better by 8–12 sessions. Long-term changes often requires more time, lasting for a year or more.
